The Role:

The role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen area and ensuring all dishes and surrounding work area is clean and organized.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent is responsible for:

• Washing, drying and stacking dishes, silverware and glassware through the shift.
• Flushing out drain in dishwasher to prevent clogs.
• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen drains with soap and scrubber. Adding bleach to each drain.
• De-liming drain in dishwasher to prevent buildup.
• Checking for empty boxes and containers. Stripping boxes and throwing away in designated trash area. Monitoring trash levels in kitchen garbage cans to avoid overflow. Pulling and securing the bags, as needed. Transporting and placing trash in the bins.
• Maintaining a safe working environment for employees by adhering to established company procedures and food industry regulations. Throughout the shift monitor the floors and work area around the dishwasher for spills and potential trip hazards.
• Attending meetings as scheduled; actively participate in the Companies safety and customer service initiatives. Assisting with other priorities at Catalina Island Company facilities as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous-Chef.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to use hand to finger, hand or feel objects, tools or controls
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to climb or balance; stoop or kneel
• Requires visual acuity and ability to hear to clearly communicate with managers, coworkers and guest
• Must be able to taste and smell
• Must occasionally life and/or move up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while keeping calm

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
• Must have a High School/GED diploma
